Welcome to J-Net
J-Net is the Japanese language specialist network of The Institute of Translation and Interpreting in the UK. We are a small group of about 150 translators and interpreters working between Japanese and mainly English (but other languages too) and we were established in 1986, the same year ITI was formed. About half our members are Friends of J-Net and do not belong to ITI, while the remainder are Associate Members or Members of ITI. We are based in the UK but have members in over 12 countries including Japan, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, the US, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Australia and Singapore. In June 2007, we hosted the International Japanese English Translation conference (IJET-18) at the University of Bath.If you are looking for a translator or interpreter, you can Search a list of our members for a specialist in the field you want, in the language direction you need. Our members have other contacts, too, so if they can't help you themselves, they can probably put you in touch with someone who can.
Are you a translator or interpreter of Japanese? Why not join us? We offer an active mailing list and busy website. Our nominal subscription fee covers administrative costs, a yearly translation and interpreting workshop, access to the mailing list and all areas of the website and the J-Net Bulletin. The mailing list is a good place to find work, look for help with large projects, offer work to others and get advice on and answers to translation and interpreting problems. We've also got some social events coming up in 2008 and details are available on the Members Only pages.
We have many special glossaries and articles on the Links page too. We've got Japanese to English and English to Japanese glossaries, dictionaries and reference materials for a wide range of topics.

Ｊネットは英国翻訳通訳協会（ITI）の日本語専門家のネットワークです。まだ小規模ですが、日本語と英語間の翻訳および通訳を携わるメンバーから構成されるグループです。メンバーの半数はITIの正会員または準会員であり、その他はITIに属しないＪネット友の会会員です。メンバーは主に英国をベースに活動していますが、その他に日本、アイルランド、フランス、オランダ、アメリカ、カナダ、ブラジル、ドイツ、デンマーク、スペイン、オーストラリア、それにシンガポール在住のメンバーもいます。
日本語と英語の翻訳者または通訳者をお探しの場合、和英または英和、それに必要としている分野に応じて、当ネットワークのリストを検索してスペシャリストを見つけることができます。たとえそのメンバーが力になれなくても、他のコンタクトを通じて、お探しの分野のスペシャリストをご紹介することができます。
